I want to use Van Dijck relational approach to digital inequalities because it allows us to understand the complexity of them (the gaps are not absolute, there are relative inequalities between people and their positions and resources). In particular, I like Van Dijck refinement of the concept of access to digital media. According to him there are successive kinds of access: motivational, material, skills (digital skills are divided in operational, informational, and strategic), and usage.

He has also published some books analyzing the complexity of the digital divide (e.g. The Deepening Divide (2005), Digital Democracy: Issues of Theory and Practice (2001)).
